MYTHS ABOUT ALLERGIES

 

The more you know about your allergies the better you will be able to manage them. With so much information out there it is important to know the facts. 

  • MYTH

    Antihistamine tablets are the most effective way to treat allergies.

     

    FACT

    Intranasal corticosteroids, like FLIXONASE® are documented to be more effective than antihistamine tablets at treating the symptoms of hayfever.3-5

     

  • MYTH

    Nasal sprays contain bodybuilding steroids.

     

    FACT

    The medicine in FLIXONASE®, a glucocorticoid, is very different from other steroids that are misused by some athletes. It does not contain bodybuilding steroids.

  • MYTH

    FLIXONASE® is addictive.

     

    FACT

    The medicine in FLIXONASE® is not addictive and has been prescribed without a “rebound effect” by doctors for many years.

     

  • MYTH

    Nasal allergies are a minor nuisance.

    Nasal allergies only affect people at certain times of the year.
